1. About These Terms
These terms govern the relationship between Pivotal Hour ("we", "us", "our") and anyone who uses our website or brings a timepiece to us for service. By submitting an enquiry through this website or leaving a watch with us for any bench work, you agree to the terms set out here.
Pivotal Hour is a watch repair workshop located at 78 Sathorn Tai Road, Thung Maha Mek, Sathorn, Bangkok 10120, Thailand. Our contact telephone is +66 2 718 3645 and general enquiries may be sent to [email protected].
2. Requesting a Service
Enquiries made through the website contact form are not confirmed appointments. We will contact you within two working days to discuss availability and arrange a suitable time for you to bring your timepiece to the workshop.
Before any bench work begins, we will describe the intended scope of work and the associated cost. Work does not proceed until you give your express agreement, either in person at the workshop or in writing by email.
We reserve the right to decline to undertake work on any timepiece where, in our professional view, proceeding would pose a significant risk to the watch or where we do not have the appropriate parts or skills for the specific movement.
3. Pricing and Payment
Prices listed on this website are the standard bench fee for each service type and are quoted in Thai Baht (THB), inclusive of VAT at the current applicable rate. Prices are subject to change; the price confirmed at the time you authorise work is the price that applies to your service.
Where work reveals that additional parts or scope are needed beyond the agreed service, we will contact you before proceeding. You may accept or decline the additional work; declining will result in the watch being returned with only the originally agreed work completed, and the original agreed fee will apply.
Payment is due on collection of the timepiece. We accept cash in Thai Baht and major bank transfer methods. Payment details will be confirmed when your watch is ready for collection.
4. Turnaround Times
Indicative turnaround times are provided for each service on our Solutions page. These are working estimates, not commitments. Factors such as the condition of the movement, parts availability, and workshop scheduling may affect the actual completion time.
We will notify you if the expected completion date changes materially from the estimate given at the time of drop-off. We do not accept liability for losses arising from a timepiece not being ready by a particular date.
5. Care of Your Timepiece
We take reasonable professional care of every timepiece left with us. Watches are handled only by qualified technicians, stored securely when not on the bench, and photographed on intake and at key stages of service.
You are responsible for informing us of any known fragility, prior damage, or unusual features of your watch before we begin work. Failure to do so may affect the outcome of the service and our liability if an issue arises.
We strongly recommend that you have any timepiece of significant financial or sentimental value appropriately insured. Our liability for loss or damage is limited to the agreed service fee, except where loss or damage results from our gross negligence.
6. Parts and Replacements
Where the agreed service requires replacement of gaskets, lubricants, or worn components, we use parts appropriate to the movement and consistent with the service type. We will inform you of any part replacement before proceeding.
Removed original parts are available for collection if you request this at drop-off. Parts not requested will be disposed of after collection of the completed watch.
7. Service Reports
Each completed service includes a written report describing the work carried out and, where applicable, the results of any pressure or timing tests. This report is provided to you at collection and a copy is retained in our service records in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
The service report records the condition of the timepiece as observed during the service. It does not constitute a valuation, an assessment of provenance, or advice about authenticity.
8. Uncollected Watches
Once your watch is ready, we will contact you to arrange collection. If a watch remains uncollected for more than 60 days after we have notified you of completion, and you have not contacted us to make alternative arrangements, we reserve the right to charge a storage fee of 500 THB per week.
If a watch remains uncollected for more than 12 months and all reasonable attempts to contact you have been unsuccessful, we may treat the watch as abandoned and dispose of it in accordance with applicable Thai law. We will document all contact attempts made during this period.
9. Limitation of Liability
We provide our services with reasonable professional care and skill. We do not accept liability for pre-existing faults that become apparent during the service, for the age-related deterioration of parts not related to the agreed scope of work, or for any consequential or indirect losses arising from the service or from delays in its completion.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be limited by Thai law.
10. Website Use
The content of this website is provided for informational purposes. We make reasonable efforts to keep it accurate and up to date but make no representation that all information is current or complete. Prices, availability, and service scope may change without prior notice on the website.
Unauthorised reproduction, redistribution, or commercial use of content from this website is not permitted without our written consent.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Thailand. Any dispute arising from these terms or from a service provided by Pivotal Hour will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Thai courts.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always available on this page, identified by the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of our services after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
